Beginning as a Drama and English teacher, and coming from a long line of passionate educators, she built her expertise in teaching and learning from the classroom up. Her PhD in community arts and collaboration explored how creativity and partnership can empower people and transform communities.

For more than a decade, Dr. Jo taught and mentored thousands of university students, guiding future teachers to develop professional skills, adaptability, and confidence. Her commitment to excellence has been recognised through multiple teaching awards and through her success in designing and leading innovative, industry-connected programs that helped students remain engaged at university by linking their studies to real opportunities with businesses and community organisations.

Outside of her professional life, Jo is passionate about health and wellbeing and enjoys performing and improvising for the love of creativity and play.
